Enforce Immigration or Lose Transportation Act

This bill withholds 5% of a State's Federal highway funds (increasing to 10% in subsequent years) for-

  • Policies that restrict local officials from communicating with the Department of Homeland Security regarding an individual's immigration status;
  • Issuing driver's licenses or ID cards to illegal aliens without requiring proof of lawful presence; or
  • Failing to cooperate with ICE detainers.
